Bahnstraße 5-12
New administrative and commercial building at the station square
Description
A new administrative and commercial building in the historic centre of Falkensee, directly at the station square. The new building forms a new gateway to the town for users of local public transport. The clearly structured façade with its visual guidance towards the public path will shape the townscape in years to come.
The building houses administrative and cultural functions of the Havelland district. Doctors’ surgeries, offices, a café, butcher/snack bar and fruit-and-vegetable shop will breathe new life into the location and give the station square the prominence it deserves.

In context
The new building on Falkensee station square forms a new gateway to the town, shaping the urban character of the western Berlin region for years to come. As an administrative and commercial building, it accommodates public, commercial and cultural functions of the Havelland district. Multifunctional briefs of this kind define ambitious new construction in Brandenburg.
The clear structure of the façade guides the eye towards the public path and creates a calm, urban prelude for commuters and visitors. Doctors’ surgeries, offices, a café and a food retail unit bring life to the location and give the station square the significance it deserves as a transport junction between Berlin-Spandau and the Havelland.
As an architectural office based in Falkensee, we understand key urban sites as a particular responsibility. The architecture of the administrative and commercial building combines contemporary commercial-building standards with a design language that respects the central location and is designed to last. Comparable work in new construction, multi-storey residential and commercial buildings across Brandenburg and Berlin is a regular part of our portfolio. From initial concept to handover, we cover the complete HOAI work stages 1 to 9.
