New mixed-use building in dialogue with Bruno Taut
Description
The site is subject to surroundings protection: the listed buildings of architect Bruno Taut (built 1928–1930) sit immediately next door. The design persuades through reduced clarity in dialogue with Taut’s heritage. Independence and respect for context are its defining qualities.
Generous retail on the ground floor, a basement with parking and storage, and upper floors with a programme of affordable flats are intended to set the direction for the development of this site.
