№ 1025 Heritage conservation
Falkensee town hall
Refurbishment, conversion and extension: heritage care while the administration stays in operation
Description
Falkensee town hall and the adjacent street-side annex are heritage-listed. To enable accessible circulation and to deliver urgent refurbishment and modernisation works, the buildings were sensitively re-planned and extended.
The existing buildings retain their appearance; the connecting structure was inserted such that the dignity of the existing buildings is preserved. Extensive refurbishment, modernisation and fire-safety upgrades were brought together with care and design empathy.
